AI calendar vs Calendly

Booking appointments, sharing a calendar, and finding meeting times are different workflows. Here is how to distinguish them from mmddyy’s current invite links.

“Share a link” can mean very different things in a calendar product. A booking link offers appointment choices. A calendar invitation gives someone access to a calendar. A public calendar page lets visitors read published plans.

mmddyy v1 offers the latter two. It does not provide booking links or automatic availability checking.

Decide what the recipient should do

If the recipient needs to pick an appointment, evaluate a booking service such as Calendly against your actual requirements. Check its current documentation for the meeting types, integrations, and plan features you need.

If the recipient needs to help maintain shared plans, calendar access may be the better fit. In mmddyy, a recipient signs in and accepts a viewer or editor invitation. Viewers read event details; editors can also add, change, and delete events. Neither role is an availability-only view.

If the recipient only needs to read published dates, an optional public calendar page can work. mmddyy’s public pages show selected calendars’ ongoing and upcoming titles and times, without notes, locations, or membership details.

Finding a time is another task

An automatic scheduler could weigh working hours, timezones, meeting load, and focus preferences. Those are useful design goals, but they require functionality beyond storing and sharing events.

Our AI scheduling roadmap is a future direction. Today you choose the event’s time yourself. The app does not rank meeting options or check everyone’s external calendar.

Choose for today’s workflow

Need What mmddyy v1 provides
Let someone book an appointment Not available
Invite a colleague to read a calendar Viewer invite link; sign-in required
Let a colleague manage events Editor invite link; sign-in required
Publish dates for visitors Optional public /@handle page
Automatically find a group meeting time Planned, not available

Read the sharing guide before sending a link. A link should communicate the access it grants, not leave the recipient guessing.

Time works better together.

Create personal and team calendars, organize events, and share calendar access with the people you choose.
